Do you have an idea that can make a difference?
We want to make it easier for businesses, associations, and organizations to go from idea to action. With the Micro Check, you can apply for up to 50,000 kronor for smaller projects that contribute to reduced climate and environmental impact in the Umeå region's countryside.
What is the Micro Check – Reduced climate and environmental impact?
The Micro Check is part of the initiative Innovative and Sustainable Countryside and aims to make it easier to test ideas that contribute to a more sustainable society. We want to give more people the opportunity to implement smaller projects that create lasting results and inspire more to transition.

The idea must be implemented in a business/association operating within Bjurholm, Vindeln, Nordmaling, Robertsfors, Vännäs, or Umeå municipality (but not Umeå city)
What can I not apply for?
Investments: You cannot budget for investments which, according to the Swedish Board of Agriculture's definition, are – a physical or intangible asset over 24,000 SEK excluding VAT with a lifespan of more than 3 years. The amount of 24,000 SEK excluding VAT also includes associated expenses to get the investment in place/installed. Initiatives that have already started before the application is decided.
What can you apply for?
Here are some examples of projects that may fit the Sustainability Check:
Energy efficiency
Reduce energy consumption in your business, community center, or shared space.
Renewable energy
Reduce the use of fossil fuels and promote renewable energy solutions.
Reuse & Circular solutions
building materials, clothingGive furniture, equipment, or items new life through reuse.
Sustainable transport
Test carpooling, car-sharing, or other solutions that reduce transport.
Smart solutions
Environmentally smart solutions for water, waste, or other environmental challenges that contribute to a more sustainable everyday life or operation.
New ideas
Test or develop new solutionsthat reduce climate and environmental impact. Do you have another idea? Please get in touch! The examples above are just examples – other project ideas can also receive support if they contribute to the purpose of the Micro Check and meet the selection criteria.

The committee decides
We have a committee that reads through the application and gives approval if everything looks good.
The project can start!
If your application has been approved, you can just get started. Money is paid out in connection with you submitting receipts for expenses within the project.
