This is how it goes
Do you have a project idea that contributes to the development of the Umeå region's rural areas? Then your idea might become a Leader project. Below we will inform you about how to proceed and tell you about what your project needs to meet in order to receive support from Leader Idériket Umeåregionen 2030.
Four steps to projects
Seeking support for a project is a process with four different steps.
The process itself is constantly being repeated, so if you miss this round, there will be another one soon. So don't stress, but rather make sure you have thought through your idea thoroughly.
Current dates
Are you curious about the dates for this round of the process? Check out our calendar!
Step 1
Get started
To shape a successful project, it is important that there are local drivers and that it is based on the needs of your area. The first step is to read about our areas of focus, talk to your local community and shape your project idea.
Step 2
Test your idea
Once you have shaped your idea into a project, you can test it against our checklist. Using it, you can check and see if your project can become a leader project.
Step 3
Expression of interest
If your idea fits all the points in our checklist, it's time to move on. Contact the operations office and brainstorm your idea with us, preferably with a first draft of an expression of interest. Once it has been worked out and we have given feedback, your expression of interest will be sent to a few selected people on the board.
They will then assess whether your idea could become a leader project, and provide developmental feedback.
If they believe your idea has the potential to become a leader project, you can start writing an actual project!
Step 4
Application
If our board determines that your expression of interest has the potential to be granted support, it is now time to make a formal application to the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
The board meets 3-4 times a year to assess the projects that have entered the system. See the current deadline in our calendar! If you miss the next opportunity, just focus on the next one.
If the board determines that your project contributes to our local development strategy, your project will be prioritized and we will begin processing your case.
From idea to start notification from the Swedish Board of Agriculture, it currently takes about 1 year.
