Construction community

New paths to sustainable living in rural areas

About the project

The feasibility study will investigate the possibilities of developing construction companies and/or a future home factory in the countryside in Umeå and Robertsfors municipalities. Through information efforts, dialogue meetings and local surveys, knowledge about construction companies increase while the interest and conditions for building together are mapped. The work will focus on four selected villages, but can be expanded to more locations if the interest proves to be great. The feasibility study will identify local needs, opportunities and obstacles for joint housing projects and examine how collaboration between civil society, business and municipalities can contribute to new solutions for sustainable housing in rural areas. With inspiration from the Egnahemsfabriken in Tjörn, the goal is to create a knowledge base for future initiatives that can strengthen housing supply, promote community and contribute to long-term sustainable social development in the region.

There is definitely a buzz of curiosity about alternative ways of building!
