Two new projects approved!

The Umeå region continues to develop

On June 3, the board of Leader Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 approved two new projects that in accordance with our local development strategy contribute to sustainable and attractive living environments.

With a budget of approximately SEK 28 million between 2023 - 2027, the rural areas of the Umeå region will be developed innovatively with projects that are permeated with sustainability, inclusion, new thinking and smart solutions.

The projects that were approved on June 3 by the board must, before final start approval, also go through processing by the Swedish Board of Agriculture before it is completely green light to start.

The two projects that were approved are as follows:

Focus area 1

Through Vännäs on skis
The project aims to develop Vännäs as a winter destination for children, families, and athletes by improving services and meeting places at the ski trails and connecting three existing ski trails into a several-mile-long cross-country skiing area.
