Test your idea

When you have shaped your idea into a project, you can proceed and test it against our checklist. With its help, you can check and see if your project has what it takes to become a leader project in Idériket Umeåregionen 2030.

Can your project become a leader project?

Test your idea against our checklist below. If your project fits all the points, you can proceed and start writing a letter of interest.

Does the project develop any of the rural areas in Umeåregionen?

Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 includes the municipalities of Bjurholm, Nordmaling, Vindeln, Vännäs, Robertsfors, and Umeå, excluding Umeå city.

Does the idea fit into our strategy?

Our development strategy shows what needs and opportunities exist in our area. It focuses on four areas of intervention that should contribute to making our rural areas even more attractive. Projects that are granted support from Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 should contribute to one or more of the goals/indicators found in the four areas of intervention. Therefore, first check our short version of the strategy, but when you have found where you belong; read the long version of the strategy to find out which indicators your project will contribute to.

Is your project innovative?

The projects carried out in Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 should be innovative. Innovation means new things, new ways of doing things, or new contexts in which to do things. This could be new services or products, new activities, or a proven method that is developed and used in a new context.
Innovation or creativity in this case is not a thought that has never been thought before! It is enough that the idea is new to your locality or context. We do not finance administrative projects.

Are you collaborating with other actors in the project?

All leader projects should be based on collaborations between actors from at least two different sectors. The three sectors are private, public, and non-profit.
The collaboration should be active, which means that both parties should contribute to the project. For example, bringing in a company as a consultant is not an active collaboration; instead, that company should contribute its working hours to count as an active partner.
There are several different ways an active partnership can look. How does yours become?

Is the project sustainable?

Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 does not invest in unsustainable ideas, so sustainability needs to permeate everything. Socially, economically, and ecologically. Additionally, you need to demonstrate how the project is sustainable over time.

Are you working anti-discriminatory?

Idériket Umeåregionen 2030 does not invest in associations/organizations, companies, or compositions that cannot demonstrate how they work anti-discriminatory. It is not enough to say that everyone can participate; you need to show how you actively work to ensure that more feel welcome, included, and how you plan to work forward to truly achieve a non-excluding project.
