Local development through the Leader method
Leader is a method where private, non-profit and public sectors work together to contribute to local development. The method is used throughout the EU and is based on the idea that local development is carried out most effectively and sustainably by those who live and work in an area. Through a Leader area, associations, companies, organisations and municipalities can apply for money for development projects. Our leader area will work sustainably towards four goals that will contribute to making the area's rural areas even more attractive to residents, visitors and businesses.

The leader area Idériket Umeå Region 2030 includes the municipalities of Bjurholm, Nordmaling, Robertsfors, Umeå, Vindeln and Vännäs, excluding the city of Umeå.
