AREA OF INTERVENTION 1

Sustainable and

attractive habitats

This focus area primarily relates to target area 1:
Strengthen and develop attractive places, habitats and natural environments

Sustainable and attractive living environments

We welcome projects that want to develop and enable recreational opportunities for more people in a sustainable way. Projects within this focus area should therefore contribute to one of the following:

  • New and restored or developed tourist attractions
  • Restoring natural and cultural environments
  • New leisure and cultural activities
  • New housing solutions
  • New service solutions

Activities and services

The hope is that long-term leisure and cultural activities are created in our villages and made available to multiple target groups. Activities aimed at young people where young people themselves are involved in the projects are particularly desirable.

More and new housing solutions are needed to make living environments in rural areas accessible to more people. Within this focus area, we would like to see collaborative projects that aim to find solutions so that more people can settle in our rural areas. Basic commercial services are of great importance for the attractiveness of places. Here, villages can serve as test areas for new solutions.

The unique values of rural areas

This focus area also includes projects where the unique values of rural areas are taken advantage of and highlighted in new, smart ways. This could involve investments in strategic communication, place development or the development of ambassadorships with the aim of highlighting the positive and attractive aspects of living and working in rural areas.
